What We Addressed Across the Website

As part of this accessibility initiative, we carried out a structured review and implemented improvements across key areas of the website:

  • Accessibility auditing using automated and manual testing
  • Form accessibility and input usability
  • Colour contrast and visual clarity
  • Keyboard navigation and focus management
  • Semantic HTML and ARIA implementation
  • Image accessibility and alternative text

Outcomes

These improvements contribute to a more inclusive and accessible digital experience, supporting users of all abilities.

  • Improved readability and visual clarity
  • Enhanced usability for keyboard and screen reader users
  • More consistent and accessible form interactions
  • Better structured and semantically correct content

WCAG Alignment

The Rainbows Ireland website has been reviewed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

While we aim to ensure a high level of accessibility, accessibility is an ongoing process. We continue to monitor, review, and improve the website over time.

Ongoing Accessibility Commitment

Accessibility is not a one-time task — it requires continuous attention and improvement.

Our ongoing approach includes:

  • Regular accessibility reviews
  • Incorporating accessibility into new features and content
  • Monitoring user feedback
  • Keeping up to date with evolving accessibility standards

Supporting Inclusive Access

Rainbows Ireland provides essential support services, and ensuring that these services are accessible online is a key part of their mission.

By improving accessibility, we help ensure that all users can access information, resources, and support without unnecessary barriers.
